My Approach

Let’s find ways to co-create with reality on its own terms.

Through the work we’ll do together, you’ll start to see how accepting reality—just as it is—can be incredibly freeing. Because when you can face what’s really going on inside, it opens the door to true empowerment. As you hone your awareness of how you’re thinking, feeling, and being, you’ll feel better equipped to build a life that’s true to who you are, even when that means leaning into discomfort. And I’ll be right here with you, helping you navigate that discomfort, so you can grow into who you know you can be.

Therapy with me is…

  • We'll approach this work as a series of experiments: asking important questions, exploring different answers, trying new approaches out, noticing what happens, and learning from it—whether a success or not. I’m here to put our minds together in service of what you’ve come to work on, offer real-time feedback and reflection, and practice new tools and skills with you. This is a space where we can be honest with each other, get curious, and embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.

  • Each of our sessions will be personalized to you and your unique experiences. Some days, we may dive deep into the origins of the beliefs and stories you hold about yourself and the world, and others we might explore your emotions or somatic sensations in the present—the place where change actually happens. I have a variety of approaches to help guide our work, and no two sessions will look or feel exactly the same. I’ll check in regularly to ensure we're on the right track, adjusting our direction or approach whenever needed.

  • Our work together will take into account how your unique and overlapping personal and social identities— like culture, race, gender, sexuality, and more—shape your experiences. We’ll also look at the systemic contexts—such as family systems, social structures and institutions—that affect the strengths, challenges, and opportunities you face.   I’m here to help you navigate these complexities in a way that feels validating and empowering in helping you reach your goals.

  • Together, we’ll explore the patterns that show up in how you relate to others, which often stem from your early experiences. These patterns may be repeating themselves in your current life, and as we work to trace them back, we’ll also pay attention to how you and I connect in the room. You can think of our relationship as a way to practice the kinds of interactions you want to have in your other relationships. Our reflection on the past and its influence on the present can help you gain new insights and make future choices with greater clarity.
